ASTA Solo Competition
The Massachusetts chapter of American
String Teachers Association (ASTA) will sponsor the state
preliminary audition round for the 2011 ASTA National Solo
Competition.
This live competition will be held on
Sunday, October 24,
2010
The Boston Conservatory
8 The Fenway
Boston, MA
The competition is open to ASTA student
members or students of a current ASTA member (age 25 or
younger as of March 20, 2011) with instrument categories of
Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Harp & Guitar. Players
compete in either the Junior Division (under 19) or Senior
Division (19-25).
Winners selected at our live auditions will be awarded
prizes (TBD) and be invited to submit a recording for the
National Semi-Final screening, from which finalists in each
category will be chosen. Finalists compete in person March
16th-19th, 2011 in Kansas City, KS. Required repertoire is
listed on the back of this page.
Applications must be
postmarked by October 1st, 2010.
