Theory for the Practicing Musician: A Workshop for Music Theory Teachers

Theory for the Practicing Musician: A Workshop for Music Theory Teachers will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at St. Mark's School in Southborough. The Workshop will be led by members of the New England Conservatory Theory Department Deborah Stein, Katarina Miljkovic, and Roger Graybill. Please bring the $25 fee with you to the workshop. If you are paying by check, make it payable to St. Mark's School. Please also confirm that you will be attending by return e-mail or by phone. Below is a plan for the day and directions to St. Mark's from various directions.

8:45 am Introduction to Harmonic Syntax (Deborah Stein).

St. Mark's School is easily accessible from the
Massachusetts Turnpike I-90 and from Route 495.

From Boston & the East: Take the Mass. Turnpike I-90 to exit 12, follow Route 9 west 2.9 miles to Route 85 north 1 mile to traffic light at intersection of Route 30.

From the west:

Take the Mass. Turnpike I-90 to exit 11A, follow Route 495 north 1 mile
to exit 23A, follow Route 9 east 2.3 miles to Route 85, take 85 north 1 mile to the intersection of Route 30.

From the north and south, via 495:

Take exit 23A, follow Route 9 east 2.3 miles to Route 85, take 85 north
1 mile to the intersection of Route 30. When you reach the traffic light
at the intersection of Routes 85 and 30, the Main Campus is in sight at
the northeast corner.

Then:
Pass the first entrance to St. Mark's and continue north on 85 to the second entrance to the right. Park in the lot adjacent to the Center for the Arts. The Seminar will be in Room 127.
